This lakeside wedding was truly one of a kind and such a joy to be a part of. From the first consult call with Olivia I knew I would fall in love with this wedding day. Not because of perfect florals, an elite venue, or a portfolio enhancing opportunity, but because of the intentionality behind the weekend. It was an honor to celebrate with them. Things didn’t go entirely as planned (as they rarely do!). Guests bundled up in fur blankets pulled from the house, and bridesmaids turned white linens into shawls during dinner. Just a few small moments that painted an authentic picture of the day. Despite the weather set backs, there was never a moment when the love and joy wasn’t present. It warmed my heart, and is the reason I’ll forever be in love with intimate and intentional weddings that have all the backyard feels.
A First Look at Spring Lakes Ranch: The Perfect Lakeside Wedding Venue
George and Olivia were the first couple to say “I do” at Spring Lakes Ranch, just outside of Waco, Texas. They rented the lakeside property for the whole weekend and surrounded themselves with their closest family and friends leading up to the day. Upon my arrival, on an unnaturally cold April morning, I saw George and his groomsmen working out and taking a run around the lake. Yes, in the cold! Meanwhile, Olivia and her girls were cozied up inside, soaking in the morning, swapping stories, and enjoying quiet moments together. The beauty of having the whole place to themselves. Once everyone was ready, George and Olivia had their lakeside wedding ceremony set against the stillness of the water and surrounded by nature.
A Truly Intentional and Detail Orientated Day
The reception that followed was also outdoors just steps from the house, with long tables, string lights and the kind of backyard wedding magic Pinterest dreams are made of. Each detail was thought out from the plated dinner to the stand alone heaters surrounding the dance floor. After dinner and speeches, many guests took the party inside while others danced in almost freezing temperatures outside. Eventually, we all piled into the home for cake cutting and more dancing. Later in the night, George and Olivia snuck outside once more for a private dance under the string lights before their grand exit. Overall, this day was so special and spoke to the true love of George and Olivia Judson.
