This spring, I had the joy of photographing Austin and Lizzie’s garden engagement photos at the breathtaking Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens — a session that was filled with sunshine, laughter, and the kind of quiet romance that lingers in the air long after the moment passes. We wandered through vibrant fields of tulips and soaked in the warmth of a perfect spring morning. It wasn’t just an engagement photoshoot, it was a walk through their love story. For me, an engagement session is so much more than just a few photographs. It’s the first chapter that sets the tone for your wedding day. Creating a genuine connection with my couples and learning how to capture their dynamic is definitely one of my favorite parts of being a Dallas wedding photographer. I wouldn’t trade it for the world!

By the time Austin and Lizzie’s wedding day arrived, they felt like old friends. We had already built a level of trust during our time together at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. That’s the kind of comfort that makes all the difference when wedding day nerves start to kick in. When couples feel seen, heard, and celebrated after that first initial time together, it shows. Their wedding day becomes less about direction and more about simply being, and that ease is what brings photos to life.

These botanical gardens were the perfect backdrop for Austin and Lizzie’s spring engagement pictures. With pops of color from seasonal blooms and a soft breeze in the air, it offered a dreamy setting that felt both peaceful and alive. During an engagement photoshoot, couples get the chance to play, experiment, and express what makes you both feel comfortable. A Visual Love Letter at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens
Their session truly felt like a visual love letter to this stage of life — the season of saying “yes” to forever. Austin and Lizzie found quiet corners to snuggle close and soaked in every sunlit moment throughout their session. You could really feel their connection in the way that they looked at each other and the way they laughed freely. They were completely present in each other’s company. I’m endlessly grateful to have documented their story in a place as magical as the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. It’s easily one of my favorite spots for garden engagement photos in Dallas, especially in the spring when nature puts on the most stunning show. It was a truly memorable day!
